Job Summary
The Manager - Warehouse and Cold Chain Management is responsible for the operations of the Warehouse. He/She manages the operational policies, standards and procedures, and leads the implementation of warehousing solutions, on-site solutions and processes, and delivering service excellence.
He/She is also responsible for managing business resources, overall customer service quality and relationships. He/She facilitates the organisation’s adoption and implementation of technology to enhance productivity, efficiency and safety of the business.
He/She is expected to lead and maintain the professionalism and discipline of his/her department, and make business decisions independently. He/She is also expected to assess or mitigate security risks and oversee responses to incidents and emergencies.
Job Responsibilities/Key Tasks(External)
Business Administration Operations
- Manage recurring revenue streams within the framework of the organisation’s vision and overall objectives
- Influence stakeholders’ perspectives on requirements and activities
- Encourage a value-based culture and a culture of accountability in the organisation
- Ensure adherence to organisation’s governance, compliance issues and reporting processes
- Ensure adherence to organisation’s data governance and protection processes
- Manage teams in the workplace
- Align resources management (manpower and asset) strategies with business strategies across different business activities
- Manage operational policies, standards and procedures
- Develop risk mitigation plans
Technology Application
- Drive organisational transformation projects and programmes development
- Drive the successful completion of technology projects
- Review impact of the use of technology or electronic tools and devices on organisational performance
- Review the impact of implementing technology enablers on organisational operations
- Leverage on data analytics to build insights on technology usage
Warehousing, Cargo and Material Handling
- Determine warehouse storage system strategy using knowledge of changes in conditions, operations and the environment and its impact to outcomes
- Develop warehouse operations performance goals using quality management knowledge
- Review warehousing standards for quality management systems
- Review warehouse planning methods, warehouse storage and layout plans
- Lead warehouse security planning and operations
- Review selected and deployed material handling systems
- Lead re-location of warehouses
- Communicate importance of achieving cargo-handling timeframe outcomes with efficient use of resources
- Manage the impact of changing industry standards or sector requirements in cargo documentation
- Manage the performance level of equipment
- Review methods and techniques to better manage dangerous goods and hazardous materials
- Review methods and techniques to better manage time and temperature-sensitive cargo
- Review cargo consolidation plans to identify savings in space, cost and efficiency
Job Requirements
- Basic knowledge of SAP/Warehouse Management System (WMS)/Supply Chain Software/Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems
- Proficiency in basic Microsoft Office/Power Platform Applications
- Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills
- Leadership skills and the ability to collaborate across functions
Professional Qualifications & Relevant Experience
- Degree/Diploma in Business/Logistics/Supply Chain or equivalent certifications
- 7-10 years of relevant working experience in Warehouse Operations/Vendor Management
