Job Summary
The Higher Executive (GL) - Finance is mostly involved in month end closing, management reporting and financial reporting of monthly results. He/she produces timely and accurate financial statements and management accounts, thus achieving compliance with corporate policies and statutory requirements. She must also analyse data and understands the financial performance and position of the business vertical to meet reporting requirements and to produce any special reports required by the management team.
The Higher Executive (GL) - Finance also works closely with internal stakeholders to roll out improvement projects to help digitalise the finance process, thus benefiting the organisation. She also works closely with internal stakeholders to understand and highlights issues and cost improvement measures.
The Higher Executive (GL) - Finance also works with the internal and external auditors and tax agents to meet regulatory reporting requirements. She must keep current with changing statutory requirements and tax laws and determine the implications of such changes to financial reporting.
Job Responsibilities/Key Tasks(External)
- Record transactions and events relating to inventory, accruals, prepayments, capital structure and finance costs.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and disclosure notes.
- Reconcile accounts and provide analysis for the organisation’s financial transactions.
- Operate accounting information systems efficiently and effectively.
- Manage a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
- Compile accurate tax-related (GST) information for the organisation.
- Provide accurate and timely GST returns to the relevant authorities.
- Ensure there is a common understanding of the need for ethical and professional approaches in dealing with tax-related issues.
- Participate in budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Respond to internal and external auditors on audit data, variances, and audit findings.
- Resolve issues and deficiencies arising from audit findings.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent professional qualifications) in Accounting, Finance with 2 years of relevant experience.
- Diploma in Accounting, Finance (with minimum relevant experience of 3 years)
- 3 years of relevant experience will be preferred.
- Possesses strong communication (verbal & written) and interpersonal skills.
- Possesses strong customer orientation and customer relationship mindset.
- Independent working trait with strong decision making and problem-solving skills.

Professional Qualifications & Relevant Experience
• Degree / Diploma in Accountancy / Business / Economics
• CPA / ACCA or its equivalents
• Experience with using SAP is advantageous.
• Well-versed in MS Office, especially MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word
• 4 years of relevant experience will be preferred (Diploma)
• Experience with using SAP is advantageous.
